The premiere of *Go North, Go South*, a microfilm focusing on youth development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and hosted by the Silk Road Development Association, was successfully held at Emperor Cinemas on July 13, 2024. Over 200 audience members attended the event, with support from more than 10 schools and organizations. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Silk Road Development Association, and this microfilm premiere is its 90th event. Over the past decade, the Association has been helping small and medium-sized enterprises and young people participate in the development of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Greater Bay Area. Mr. Rem Tai, Founding Chairman of the Silk Road Development Association, delivered an opening speech. This year’s microfilm was sponsored by the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education under the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. The Association has always created stories for each of its microfilms based on the social context of the time. In 2018, when young people in society were facing a sense of hopelessness about the future, the first microfilm *Bon Voyage* centered on the themes of "struggle" and "persistence". In 2021, amid the pandemic, the second microfilm *With You All the Way* focused on "companionship" and "gratitude". This year, as Hong Kong enters a new era of "transitioning from stability to prosperity", the themes of this microfilm are "reflection" and "hope". This year’s microfilm also has an official website: www.gonorthgosouth.com. The MTV of its theme song is now available for selection at Neway KTV, and its MP3 version can be downloaded on major music streaming platforms. The promotional video has been viewed by nearly 20,000 people on Facebook. A commemorative folder of *Go North, Go South* was also produced this year, which students can use for their school needs. *Go North, Go South* is set against the backdrop of consumption trips to the mainland. The names of the four main characters are derived from four representative places in Hong Kong and Shenzhen: - "Gao Xinyuan" (inspired by "Gaoxin Park"), a youth entrepreneurship base in Shenzhen; - "Zhang Jun’ao" (derived from "Tseung Kwan O"), one of the areas in Hong Kong with the largest youth population; - "Le Ma Zhou" (from "Lok Ma Chau") and "Lian Tang" (from "Lian Tang"), two major Shenzhen-Hong Kong border checkpoints. Through stories of entrepreneurship and love, the microfilm conveys the development of the Greater Bay Area and hope for the future. The audience gave highly positive feedback, and the event was a great success.
